UCL: Real Madrid shocked in Russia, Man Utd Booed at home

                                                  

Real Madrid were humbled 1-0 by CSKA Moscow in Group G of the UEFA Champions League, despite hitting the woodwork three times in Russia on Tuesday night.

Nikola Vlasic scored the decisive goal even with home keeper Igor Akinveev sent off in injury time.

Roma smashed Viktoria Plzen 5-0 in the group’s other fixture, with an Edin Dzeko hat-trick boosted by Cengiz Under and Justin Kluivert’s goals.

Paulo Dybala also hit a hat-trick for Juventus, who didn’t miss suspended Cristiano Ronaldo one bit in waltzing past Young Boys 3-0 in Turin in their Group H clash.

The Argentinian international spurred his side on to victory in one of two early Champions League kick offs.

Manchester United couldn’t find a way past Spanish side Valencia in the other pool fixture at Old Trafford, as the pair settled for a 0-0 draw before Jose Mourinho’s men were booed off at full time.

Manchester City snatched three points thanks to a late, opportunistic strike by David Silva at Hoffenheimin Group F.

Elsewhere, Lyon came back from two goals down to rescue a point at home to Shakhtar Donetsk.

In Group E, Bayern Munich were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Ajax, despite a fourth-minute opener from Mats Hummels.

AEK Athens lost by the odd goal in five to Benfica in the Greek capital in the other group game.
